Rosario has worked Southwest Youth and Family Services for more than 12 years in varying roles. She began her time with SWYFS as the Latino Family Advocate. Born in Mexico and raised in the U.S., she is bilingual in English and Spanish. She then transitioned to the Counseling Department as LMFTA Therapist at SWYFS for four years before joining the ParentChild+ team as a Program Manager. She has many years of experience as a parent facilitator and enjoys teaching effective communication skills, cognitive and behavioral techniques. Her therapeutic methods include integrating systemic structural approaches and increasing self-awareness of clients. She’s worked with families in various setting such as public-school systems, community-based organizations, homeless shelters, and providing resources, assistance, and support. She is able to artfully engage in the therapeutic relationship with each family’s unique needs and brings her wealth of knowledge to her role as the Counseling Center Director.
